Help Support the Ann Arbor Campaign to get the Google Fiber Network

Ann Arbor is actively networking to be one of the receiptants of the fiber network that Google is installing.

You can join the Facebook Fan Page to keep updated, there are already 7,993 fans there, connecting and discussing.

Both the City of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan are putting together an application to send to Google.

What will a fiber network mean to the communities that Google selects?

  • A video conference without connection hiccups.
  • A movie rental that takes five minutes to download, as opposed to an hour.
  • Streaming videos of lectures taking place hundreds of miles away with resolution so precise that you can practically see the loose threads on the professor’s sports coat.
  • Fast Connections

You can follow the discussion of the A2 Fiber Network on Twitter.

Attend the Ann Arbor City Council Meeting and voice your opinion on the Google Fiber for Communities on Monday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Ann Arbor Chamber Morning Edition is Wednesday, March 17 at Weber’s Ann Arbor from 7am – 8:45am. Andy Palms, University of Michigan Information and Technology Services, will be there to talk about how you can help us convince Google that Ann Arbor is the place to install a high speed broadband network!

Ann Arbor Residents there are lots of ways to lend your support this campaign.
