Discover Ann Arbor
Well…since this is a blog post and not a book, I can only highlight a few of my favorite things to discover in Ann Arbor. In fact if you are only here for a short stay, then this would be how I would discover Ann Arbor in a few short hours.
Discover Ann Arbor Breakfast
Angelo’s is located on Catherine Street, close to U of M Hospitals and has the best homemade french toast raisin bread around.
After discovering breakfast with local Ann Arbor flair, I would walk around Nichols Arboretum. Never mind the season it is such a beautiful place to walk around in Summer, Fall, Spring or Winter. Panoramic views all around on the 123 Ac site. Don’t worry about getting lost, you can always walk down hill to the Huron River and follow the river back up. Plan your day with this visitors guide or just take a quick peak around the popular trails.
Discover Ann Arbor at Lunch
Whenever I visit a new community the last place I want to eat is at Chain Restaurants. So two unique places to eat in Ann Arbor are Zingermans and Blimpy Burger.
Zingerman’s is located at 422 Detroit Street and my very favorite place to take my out of town buyers and sellers. They get to chose from over 99 sandwiches and not only eat delicious food but experience a flavor of Ann Arbor.
Blimpy Burger is located on the corner of Packard and Divison, and like Zingermans plan to stand in line for a short time. Blimpy Burgers has one of best burgers in Ann Arbor where the meat is ground fresh daily. While there you can pick up a T Shirt or hat to say you discovered Ann Arbor by visiting Blimpy Burgers.
Time to walk off lunch so stroll on down to the “Big House” and take a peak. If you haven’t had the experience of being there on a football game day, you can still discover the Michigan Football Stadium. Even if your not an avid football fan, discovering Ann Arbor would not be the same without seeing the “Big House.”
